This market will resolve based on the highest temperature recorded in the 'Daily Observations' table on Weather Underground, not the figure displayed in the 'Day High & Low' summary section; in the event of any discrepancy between the two, the Daily Observations table shall be the primary resolution source not the Day High & Low section. This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded at the Gimhae Intl Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 22 Aug '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the highest temperature recorded for all times on this day for the Gimhae Intl Airport Station, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/kr/busan/RKPK. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.

Forecasts for Busan on August 22, 2026, center on afternoon highs in the low-to-mid 30s °C amid lingering summer heat influenced by the North Pacific high-pressure system. Official and ensemble guidance from sources like the Korea Meteorological Administration, GFS, and ECMWF point to partly cloudy skies with a moderate chance of showers or thunderstorms, which could cap the peak if clouds build early or allow brief clearing for stronger insolation. Recent observations show daily maxima near 29–32 °C, with body-feel temperatures occasionally reaching 33–35 °C due to high humidity (often 80–90 %). Market-implied odds favor 33 °C (42.5 %) followed by 32 °C (29.5 %) and 34 °C (21.5 %) because current model consensus clusters the expected maximum in that narrow band, consistent with climatological August peaks slightly above the long-term average of ~31 °C. Lower outcomes like 31 °C receive less weight given the warm start to the day and limited cooling potential overnight. Upper tails (35 °C+) remain low-probability because any organized convection or increased cloud cover would suppress extremes. Key near-term catalysts include updated model runs and KMA briefings expected overnight into August 22, which will refine the timing of any seabreeze or precipitation. Historical analogs for late-August days with similar synoptic setups rarely exceed 34–35 °C without a stronger ridge or suppressed marine influence. Traders are thus positioning around the 32–34 °C cluster while acknowledging typical forecast uncertainty ranges of ±1–2 °C for a single-day maximum.
