National Weather Service forecasts and ongoing Central Texas heat wave conditions under persistent subtropical ridging position 104–105°F as the leading outcome for Austin’s August 24 high, with clear skies and light southerly flow favoring strong daytime heating and minimal cloud interference. Recent daily maxima of 103–107°F align with this setup, while climatological August averages in the mid-to-upper 90s and historical records above 110°F underscore the elevated but not unprecedented nature of current readings. Trader consensus reflected in the market-implied odds incorporates these factors alongside typical forecast uncertainty ranges from official model guidance, with upcoming official observations from the National Weather Service station serving as the resolution benchmark.
