This market will resolve according to the candidate who wins the nomination for the Democratic Party to contest the FL-21 congressional district seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections. The Democratic primary will take place on August 18, 2026. If no nominee is announced by November 3, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be a consensus of official Democrat sources, including https://democrats.org/. Any replacement of the nominee before election day will not change the resolution of the market.
James Martin holds a modest lead in the FL-21 Democratic primary trader consensus due to his profile as a Coast Guard veteran and former White House national security aide, which positions him as a pragmatic contender suited to a Republican-leaning district. Bernard Taylor, a local firefighter-EMT with stronger reported fundraising, maintains competitive positioning through emphasis on community ties and Treasure Coast issues. The race remains tight three days before the August 18 primary because both first-time candidates lack extensive name recognition or major endorsements, while the district's R+7 lean and focus on defeating incumbent Brian Mast limit differentiation. Late polling shifts, additional outside spending, or strong debate performances could widen the gap ahead of primary voting.
