Nebraska enters Friday’s Big Ten matchup at Illinois on a three-game skid after late collapses against Indiana, Oregon, and Washington, dropping to 5-3 overall and 2-3 in conference play. The Huskers face a short turnaround and multiple defensive injuries, including EDGE Anthony Jones and several linebackers, while their offense has struggled to close games against stronger conference foes. Illinois, also 5-3 and 3-2 in the Big Ten, carries a three-game win streak highlighted by a home victory over Oregon and a road win at Maryland, with quarterback Katin Houser returning effectively from hand surgery. The Illini host at Memorial Stadium with several defensive contributors sidelined but benefit from home-field advantage and recent momentum. Both squads sit near the middle of the conference standings, making recent form and injury depth the primary drivers of current pricing.
