North Texas enters Thursday night’s American Athletic Conference matchup at DATCU Stadium as the clear favorite against Florida Atlantic, driven by its 3-0 league mark, nation-leading scoring offense averaging 43.1 points, and potent passing attack led by quarterback Tayven Jackson. The Mean Green rank among the FBS leaders in total yards and have won four straight while limiting opponents on the ground. Florida Atlantic counters with its own high-volume passing game anchored by Caden Veltkamp and receiver Easton Messer, fresh off a 51-49 shootout win over Rice, yet the Owls rank near the bottom nationally in total and scoring defense. Multiple injuries on both sides, including North Texas wideout Corri Milliner and several Florida Atlantic offensive linemen, add uncertainty to the expected high-total environment, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
