A by-election for the Alberta provincial electoral district of Calgary-Shaw is currently scheduled to be held on September 14, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who wins the 2026 Calgary-Shaw provincial by-election. If the election results are not known definitively by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting. In case of ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on official election results as published by Elections Alberta (https://www.elections.ab.ca/).

Mike Derry leads the Calgary-Shaw by-election market at 63.5% as the United Conservative Party nominee, reflecting the riding's conservative leanings and the party's governing status under Premier Danielle Smith. Derry secured the UCP nomination in late June by defeating Calgary city councillor Dan McLean in a membership vote, gaining endorsements and campaign support ahead of the September 14 vote. Kyle Campbell, the NDP candidate, sits at 30.5% amid efforts to expand opposition support in suburban Calgary. Minor candidates including Liberal leader John Roggeveen and Progressive Tory Kyle Joseph register far lower shares. The writ was issued in mid-August with nominations closing August 27, positioning the contest as a test of provincial party strength in a seat vacated earlier this year by former UCP MLA Rebecca Schulz.
