Alexander Zverev enters the Erste Bank Open first round as the top seed and world No. 2 on indoor hard courts, where his serve and experience give him a clear edge over 20-year-old wildcard Martin Landaluce. Zverev arrives rested after a Shanghai semifinal loss and carries momentum from two 2026 Grand Slam titles, positioning a quarterfinal here to claim the year-end No. 1 ranking. Landaluce, ranked No. 67, enjoyed a breakout season with Masters quarterfinals in Miami and Rome plus 13 ATP wins, yet holds a 0-3 record against top-10 players and has yet to win an indoor hard-court match at this level. Their first meeting favors Zverev’s consistency and home-tournament history, though Landaluce’s aggressive baseline game and recent Challenger final run provide limited upset potential in the eyes of traders.
