Coleman Wong enters US Open qualifying as the higher-ranked player (No. 93, career high No. 92) with strong recent hard-court results, including straight-set qualifier wins at Cincinnati and a semifinal run at the Los Cabos ATP 250. The 22-year-old Hong Kong player also carries venue familiarity after reaching the 2025 main-draw third round. Elmer Moller (No. 172) arrives with a mixed 2026 record, primarily competing on clay where he has notched most wins, and limited recent success on hard courts ahead of this first-round qualifier. The hard-court surface and ranking gap position Wong as the clear market favorite, though Moller’s experience in best-of-three sets leaves room for competitive sets if he finds early rhythm.
