Dalibor Svrcina enters the US Open first round as a qualifier after three straight hard-court wins, including victories over Mackenzie McDonald and Alexis Galarneau, while Valentin Royer arrives off a strong Kingston Challenger title run on the same surface that featured straight-set dominance in the final. Royer holds the higher ranking at world No. 75 versus Svrcina’s No. 134, yet Svrcina leads their head-to-head 2-0 from prior clay encounters. Both players show solid recent hard-court results, with Royer posting a stronger overall hard record and Svrcina carrying momentum from qualifying. The matchup on outdoor hard courts in New York favors the slightly more experienced Royer in trader consensus, though Svrcina’s recent form and prior success against him keep the implied probabilities tightly contested.
