Skatov enters as the higher-ranked player near ATP No. 149-175 with prior Grand Slam main-draw experience and a career-high of 123, giving him an edge in consistency and hard-court results. Bailly, a 20-year-old Belgian ranked around 230 with a peak of 201, brings limited ATP wins this season but recent deep runs in Australian Open qualifying and steady ITF progress. The pair has no prior head-to-head, and the hard-court surface offers no clear stylistic advantage. Recent form shows Skatov with more matches at this level while Bailly adjusts to pro schedules, keeping the qualifier opener competitive based on ranking differential and experience gaps.
