Aleksandr Shevchenko enters the Almaty Open qualifying second round as the higher-ranked player at No. 111 against No. 135 Stefanos Sakellaridis on indoor hard courts. Both advanced from first-round qualifying on October 17, with Shevchenko rallying past Daniil Glinka in three sets and Sakellaridis posting a straight-sets win over Petr Bar Biryukov. The Kazakhstani benefits from home support and greater ATP-level experience, including a career-high ranking of 45, while the 22-year-old Greek has shown recent ranking gains but limited main-draw results. No prior head-to-head exists, so recent form, ranking differential, and surface familiarity shape the matchup.
