Luca Van Assche, the higher-ranked player at No. 54 with a career high of 48, holds a clear edge over 20-year-old Rei Sakamoto (No. 165) in this Quebec City Challenger quarterfinal on outdoor hard courts. Van Assche owns the head-to-head after a straight-sets win earlier in 2026 and brings stronger recent form from ATP Tour events, including a title run and consistent main-draw appearances. Sakamoto arrives with momentum from a first-round victory over Jurij Rodionov in the same tournament but has limited experience at this level and a modest 1-3 record for the year. Both players favor aggressive baseline play, though Van Assche’s greater physical maturity and serve consistency on hard courts have shaped trader consensus around his favorite status. No reported injuries or late withdrawals affect the matchup.
