Valentin Royer, the top seed and world No. 78, faces No. 178 Gonzalo Bueno in the Kingston Open quarterfinals on outdoor hard courts. Royer advanced with straight-sets wins over junior standout Guto Miguel and Tyler Zink after a first-round loss to Tsitsipas in Cincinnati, showcasing consistent serving and return pressure. Bueno reached his first professional hard-court quarterfinal by rallying past Benjamin Willwerth and dominating Edward Winter, posting strong first-serve percentages in the process. The 100-spot ranking gap and Royer’s superior recent results against higher-level opponents shape trader consensus around the Frenchman’s strong favoritism, though Bueno’s improved hard-court form and lack of prior head-to-head data introduce some uncertainty on this surface.
