Alexei Popyrin faces fourth seed Hugo Gaston in the second round of the 2026 ATP Challenger 125 in Quebec City on indoor hard courts. Popyrin, the taller Australian with a powerful serve, holds a recent edge in hard-court results after competing in Montreal and Cincinnati events. Gaston, the French left-hander ranked slightly higher, brings strong movement and variety but trails in head-to-head history beyond their lone prior meeting on grass at Wimbledon 2022. Both players enter with comparable recent form and limited rest considerations in the draw. The surface and Popyrin’s physical advantages shape trader consensus around a competitive but favored outcome for the higher-ranked Australian in this best-of-three match.
