Stefan Popovic enters the Plovdiv 3 challenger qualification as the clear favorite against junior Kaloyan Shikov, backed by his ATP ranking of 626 and consistent recent results on clay. The 23-year-old Serbian has compiled a solid 2026 record on the surface, including wins in ITF events, while Shikov, a 16- or 17-year-old Bulgarian ranked around 122 in juniors, steps up from youth tournaments with limited senior experience. The clay surface favors Popovic's established game, though the local crowd and any momentum from Shikov's recent junior titles could create slight home pressure. Trader consensus reflects Popovic's experience edge in this matchup.
