Brandon Nakashima enters the Rolex Paris Masters first round as the higher-ranked player at No. 17-18 against No. 43 Matteo Berrettini on indoor hard courts, with recent trader consensus reflecting a narrow edge for the American. Nakashima defeated Berrettini in straight tiebreak sets at the 2026 Shanghai Masters, extending his edge in their 1-1 head-to-head, while both players arrive after first-round exits or quarterfinal runs in Vienna on the same surface. Nakashima’s steadier 36-22 season record and stronger recent form on hard contrast with Berrettini’s stop-start campaign, though the Italian’s experience and indoor serve patterns keep the matchup competitive in a best-of-three format.
