Facundo Mena and Juan Manuel La Serna, both Argentines, meet for the first time in the opening round of the Sion Challenger on outdoor red clay. The 22-year-old La Serna enters with the higher ranking near 285 after reaching a career-high 282 in May and claiming his first Challenger title in Córdoba earlier this season, reflecting strong recent form on the circuit. Veteran Mena, 33 and ranked around 330, brings extensive Challenger experience including multiple titles and a career-high of 127, though his results have been more variable in 2026. Key factors include La Serna’s youth and current momentum against Mena’s proven clay-court consistency and tactical depth in longer rallies typical of the surface. No major injuries or withdrawals have been reported.
