Daniil Medvedev holds a commanding 6-1 head-to-head edge over Frances Tiafoe, including a straight-sets victory on hard courts in Brisbane earlier in 2026, giving the seventh seed a significant historical advantage heading into their US Open fourth-round clash. Medvedev has dropped just one set across three matches in New York, highlighted by a dominant 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 win over Arthur Rinderknech, while maintaining strong serving and consistency on the hard courts where he won the title in 2021. Tiafoe, the 11th seed, arrives with momentum after a straight-sets rout of Valentin Vacherot and a strong Cincinnati run that included a final appearance, bolstered by home-crowd support and his proven US Open record reaching the semifinals previously. The best-of-five format on outdoor hard courts favors Medvedev’s experience in extended rallies and break-point conversion, though Tiafoe’s recent form and aggressive baseline play keep the matchup competitive.
