Martin Landaluce enters the Winston-Salem Open first-round matchup against Mattia Bellucci holding a dominant 4-0 head-to-head record, including a straight-sets win over the Italian on clay in Rome earlier this season. The 20-year-old Spaniard, currently ranked around No. 67, arrives with stronger recent hard-court results after reaching the Cincinnati third round with victories over Jack Draper and Matteo Arnaldi. Bellucci, ranked near No. 81, has shown inconsistency on hard courts this summer, exiting early in Toronto and Cincinnati despite some grass-court progress. Both players favor slower surfaces, yet Landaluce’s superior ball-striking power has consistently prevailed in prior meetings. The hard-court encounter serves as key preparation for the upcoming US Open.
