Lloyd Harris enters this US Open qualifying third-round match on outdoor hard courts holding a 2-0 head-to-head edge over Pablo Llamas Ruiz, including a recent straight-sets win in a Cancun Challenger. The 29-year-old South African arrives in strong form after capturing a recent hard-court Challenger title and winning nine of his last ten matches, backed by efficient serving and baseline consistency. Llamas Ruiz, the younger Spaniard ranked slightly higher at No. 126, advanced through two three-set battles, including a super-tiebreak victory over Vitaliy Sachko that featured 14 aces but required saving match points. Harris’s superior recent hard-court results and prior success against Llamas Ruiz shape the current market positioning around the more experienced player’s edge.
