Tabilo enters as the consensus favorite in this US Open first-round matchup on outdoor hard courts, reflecting his higher ranking, narrow 2-1 head-to-head lead, and more consistent results against stronger opposition this season. The Chilean left-hander reached the Washington quarterfinals with wins over Griekspoor and Shelton before recent early exits in Toronto and Cincinnati, while expressing strong practice form and motivation after early arrival in New York. Hanfmann, at 34, posted solid hard-court showings including a Montreal third-round run with victories over Bonzi and Cobolli, though his lower ranking and mixed overall results limit his edge. Both players lack reported injury concerns, with the winner likely facing a tough second-round test against the Popyrin-Dimitrov winner. Trader pricing aligns with Tabilo’s modest ranking and stylistic advantages on the surface.
