Arthur Fils enters the Cincinnati Open second round as the clear favorite against Yannick Hanfmann on outdoor hard courts, with traders pricing his implied win probability well above 70 percent based on ranking (around 21-24 versus Hanfmann’s 55-57) and overall pedigree. The 21-year-old Frenchman has shown strong hard-court form since recovering from earlier 2026 hip and back injuries that forced withdrawals, including from Roland Garros, while Hanfmann arrives after a straight-sets first-round win over Luca Van Assche but lacks comparable recent depth in Masters 1000 events. Their head-to-head favors Fils decisively from a prior 6-0 6-2 victory, and the surface suits his power game more than Hanfmann’s steadier baseline style. No late injuries or withdrawals have altered the draw.
