Gulin, a 23-year-old Russian ranked around 484-621 with a career-high of 358, brings strong recent clay form into this Como Challenger qualifying opener after three consecutive qualifying wins in Augsburg on the surface. Molleker, the 25-year-old German seeded ninth and ranked near 379-451 with a career peak of 146, counters with greater top-level experience and a solid 2026 clay record despite a first-round exit in Prague. The pair has no prior head-to-head meetings on the red clay at A.S.D. Tennis Club Como, where serve-return dynamics and break-point conversion will likely decide the outcome in this single-elimination qualifier. Recent momentum favors Gulin’s consistency at lower levels, while Molleker’s pedigree could prove decisive if the match extends.
