Taylor Fritz enters the Cincinnati Open quarterfinal against Brandon Nakashima as the clear favorite, backed by a 4-1 head-to-head edge that includes straight-set victories in Dallas and Washington earlier in 2026. The world No. 9 and sixth seed has maintained strong hard-court form while seeking his first Masters 1000 title since Indian Wells 2022. Nakashima, riding a career-best stretch with three straight wins at the prior Washington event and a deep Cincinnati run, brings aggressive baseline play and recent momentum that has narrowed the implied probability gap. Both Americans will compete on outdoor hard courts, where Fritz’s serve and experience in high-stakes matches have historically prevailed, though Nakashima’s improving consistency keeps the matchup competitive.
