Arthur Fery enters this Cincinnati Open round-of-32 clash after securing his maiden Masters 1000 victory in a three-set battle, extending a 2026 campaign where the British player holds a 9-5 record and reached a career-high singles ranking near No. 36. The first meeting pits the rising underdog against fifth-seeded Alex de Minaur, who overcame a slow start and set deficit in his prior match to advance while acknowledging recent inconsistencies. De Minaur's superior ranking, experience on hard courts, and overall form position him as the consensus favorite, though Fery's recent momentum and aggressive baseline play introduce realistic upset potential in the ATP 1000 setting.
