Jaime Faria and Jenson Brooksby meet in the US Open first round on hard courts with nearly identical ATP rankings near 70-74 and season win totals around 12 apiece. Faria holds the recent edge after a straight-sets victory over Brooksby in Cincinnati qualifying, part of a strong hard-court run that included wins over Ben Shelton and Adam Walton before a loss to Lorenzo Musetti. Brooksby arrives after a straight-sets win over Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in Winston-Salem but a subsequent defeat to Stefanos Tsitsipas, with his deeper Grand Slam history offset by a more uneven 2026 record. Their head-to-head is tied at 1-1 overall, yet the surface and timing favor the younger Portuguese player’s current form in a matchup widely viewed as competitive by traders.
