Matteo Berrettini brings significant experience and a powerful serve that historically excels on hard courts, though recurring hip and other injuries have limited his consistency since 2022 and forced withdrawals in 2026 events like the Australian Open and a retirement at Roland Garros. Titouan Droguet, ranked around No. 119, enters with stronger recent momentum, posting an 8-7 record in 2026 that includes deep runs on clay and grass plus a prior head-to-head win over Berrettini on clay in 2024. The Cincinnati hard-court surface favors Berrettini’s style when healthy, yet Droguet’s current form and baseline reliability could challenge the Italian in the Round of 128. Weather and any late fitness updates remain key variables.
