Bhambri and Venus, an established Indo-Kiwi doubles pairing with Grand Slam pedigree and strong recent hard-court form, face first-round Cincinnati Open opponents Brooksby and Svajda. The latter enter as a younger American wild-card combination with limited prior doubles success at this level. Bhambri/Venus advanced to the second round in Montreal after upsetting fifth seeds Harrison/Skupski before falling to Arribage/Olivetti, highlighting their ability to compete against higher-ranked teams on outdoor hard courts. Brooksby has focused primarily on singles this season with mixed results, while Svajda’s experience remains developing. No reported injuries or withdrawals affect the field, and the match occurs on standard Masters 1000 hard courts where serve-volley and return consistency often decide early rounds.
