Francisco Comesana faces Yibing Wu in the Winston-Salem Open round of 64 on outdoor hard courts, with no prior head-to-head meetings. Comesana, ranked around No. 109 and stronger on clay, enters with a modest 2026 hard-court record of 2-7 and recent losses in events like Cincinnati qualifying, limiting his ability to extend rallies effectively here. Wu, ranked near No. 118 and entering as an alternate, holds a stronger hard-court mark this season around 12-8, favoring his aggressive baseline style and first-strike approach suited to the medium-paced surface. Recent challenger results on hard have kept Wu competitive, while schedule factors like rest and the fast conditions amplify the stylistic edge in trader assessments of the matchup.
