Marco Cecchinato (ATP 173) faces Liam Broady (ATP 201) in the opening round of US Open qualifying on outdoor hard courts. Broady holds recent momentum after capturing the Miyazaki Challenger title in 2026 and maintains a 1-0 head-to-head edge. Cecchinato, a former top-20 player now competing primarily on clay, shows limited recent hard-court results and inconsistent form entering the event. Both veterans seek main-draw entry, with Broady’s improved ranking trajectory and hard-surface familiarity positioning him as the market favorite in a match that resolves upon completion of best-of-three sets. No confirmed injuries or withdrawals affect the draw.
