Bu holds a clear ranking advantage at approximately world No. 120 versus Rio Noguchi’s position near No. 213 entering their US Open men’s qualifying first-round match on outdoor hard courts. The Chinese player’s career-high ATP singles mark of 64 and prior Grand Slam qualifying experience provide a measurable edge in consistency and depth, while the Japanese veteran’s peak of 196 reflects solid Challenger results but limited recent main-tour breakthroughs. Both arrive with modest 2026 win-loss records and mixed hard-court form, including Bu’s Cincinnati qualifying appearances. No confirmed injuries or late withdrawals alter the field, though qualification pressure and potential fatigue from the schedule favor the higher-ranked player in trader consensus.
