Alexander Blockx enters this US Open second-round matchup as the clear favorite, seeded 28th and ranked around No. 34, after a dominant straight-sets first-round win over Tomas Barrios Vera. The 21-year-old Belgian has shown strong recent form on multiple surfaces, reaching a career-high ranking of No. 32 earlier in 2026 and posting a solid win rate against higher-level competition. Marco Trungelliti, the 36-year-old Argentine ranked No. 83, advanced via a grueling five-set victory over Shang Juncheng that lasted over three hours and included a rain delay, highlighting the veteran's resilience but also potential fatigue on the hard courts. With no prior head-to-head meetings and Blockx's superior ranking and youth, traders see the Belgian as heavily favored in this Grand Slam encounter.
