Felix Auger-Aliassime enters the 2026 US Open first round as the No. 3 seed and world No. 4 against Rinky Hijikata, reflecting a wide gap in current ATP rankings and overall form. The Canadian posted a 32-15 record in 2026 with quarterfinal appearances at the French Open and Wimbledon, plus strong hard-court results in Cincinnati, though he lost to Frances Tiafoe in the round of 16 after parting ways with his longtime coach. Hijikata sits at No. 85 with a 14-17 mark, exiting early in recent hard-court events including Winston-Salem and Cincinnati while showing limited Grand Slam success beyond a 2023 round of 16. This marks their first meeting on hard courts, where Auger-Aliassime’s serve and baseline power have historically dominated. Trader consensus prices reflect these edges in the opening round, tempered by tennis’s inherent variability and any late adjustments to conditioning or draw positioning.
