Ben Shelton enters the US Open fourth-round matchup as the clear trader favorite, buoyed by a strong 2026 hard-court campaign that includes a Montreal title and three consecutive four-set wins to reach this stage. The American ninth seed’s booming lefty serve has produced double-digit aces in recent matches, giving him an edge on the fast Arthur Ashe Stadium surface against Tsitsipas’s one-handed backhand. Tsitsipas, ranked 53rd after a difficult stretch, has shown renewed confidence with upsets over seeded players Arthur Fils and Jiri Lehecka plus a Gstaad title under new coach Patrick Mouratoglou, reaching his first US Open round of 16. Their lone prior meeting went to Tsitsipas in 2023 Cincinnati tiebreaks, but Shelton’s current momentum and home-crowd support shape market consensus around his implied probability edge in what projects as a competitive best-of-five with potential tiebreak swings.
