- Wird Mike Locksley 2026 nicht mehr Head Coach von Maryland sein?100¢100 %
Maryland and Mike Locksley mutually agreed to part ways on October 21, 2026, after the Terrapins opened 2-5 overall and 0-4 in Big Ten play, extending a 12-game conference losing streak. The move followed a 37-30 homecoming collapse to Rutgers, prior blowout losses to first-year coaches at Virginia Tech and UCLA, and Locksley's dismissal of defensive coordinator Ted Monachino days earlier. Athletic director Jim Smith cited alignment on a program reset, with co-defensive coordinator Aazaar Abdul-Rahim named interim and a national search underway. Locksley departs with a 39-54 record over eight seasons, including three straight bowl wins from 2021-23 but persistent struggles to sustain Big Ten competitiveness. Trader consensus at 97.5% for "Yes" reflects this confirmed in-season exit. A reversal remains theoretically possible only through an unprecedented reinstatement before season's end, though the buyout and public statements make that highly improbable.
