This market will resolve according to the candidate who wins the nomination for the Republican Party to contest the FL-19 congressional district seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections. The Republican primary will take place on August 18, 2026. If no nominee is announced by November 3, 2026, 11:59PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be a consensus of official Republican sources, including https://www.rnc.org/. Any replacement of the nominee before election day will not change the resolution of the market.

Jim Schwartzel secured the Republican nomination for Florida’s 19th Congressional District in the August 18, 2026 primary after incumbent Byron Donalds pursued the governorship, leaving an open seat in the solidly Republican district. As a local media executive and native of the area, Schwartzel outperformed a crowded field that included out-of-state challengers such as former Rep. Madison Cawthorn, former Rep. Chris Collins, Jim Oberweis, and Trump-endorsed Catalina Lauf, who finished second. His campaign benefited from strong local fundraising, endorsements from House Republicans including Jim Jordan and Steve Scalise, and voter preference for an established Southwest Florida figure amid heavy spending by multiple candidates. With results showing Schwartzel at roughly 29% and a clear lead, the market consensus reflects the certified outcome. Late challenges would require an official recount, legal contest of vote totals, or candidate withdrawal, none of which have emerged in the days since the primary.
