Daniel Altmaier holds a ranking edge over Francisco Comesana and leads their hard-court head-to-head, though the overall series sits at 1-1 after Comesana’s clay win in Rome. Altmaier received a second-round bye at the Winston-Salem Open while Comesana opened with a straight-sets victory over Yibing Wu. Both players enter with mixed 2026 results on outdoor hard courts, where Altmaier has shown slightly better recent efficiency on serve and in deciding sets. The matchup on a fast hard-court surface favors the German’s experience, yet Comesana’s aggressive baseline game and break-point conversion trends keep the contest competitive ahead of the US Open swing.
