Ciryl Gane enters UFC 334 as the undisputed heavyweight champion after Tom Aspinall vacated the belt due to lingering eye injuries from their prior no-contest, building on his interim title win via second-round TKO over Alex Pereira in June. The 36-year-old French fighter brings superior reach, striking volume, and experience against elite competition, though questions around eye pokes and back-of-head strikes have drawn scrutiny. Josh Hokit, a 28-year-old undefeated 10-0 prospect with a wrestling background from college football, has climbed rapidly with three 2026 victories, including a second-round TKO of Derrick Lewis and a high-volume unanimous decision over Curtis Blaydes at UFC 327 that earned Fight of the Night honors. Analysts note Hokit’s pressure wrestling and power could create stylistic problems similar to Cain Velasquez’s style, testing Gane’s takedown defense at Madison Square Garden on November 14. Trader consensus reflects Gane’s experience edge against the step-up in competition for the American contender.
