Janice Tjen enters the Chennai Open final as the top seed and defending champion with strong recent momentum on hard courts, having dropped just one set en route while securing straight-sets semifinal wins over Robin Montgomery and earlier victories over Polina Kudermetova and Joanna Garland. The 24-year-old Indonesian’s powerful serve and effective backhand have produced consistent results at the SDAT Tennis Stadium, supporting trader consensus around a 65-66% implied probability for her to claim the WTA 250 title. Magda Linette, the third seed and 34-year-old veteran, advanced via resilient comebacks including a three-set semifinal reversal against Anastasia Zakharova, leveraging her counterpunching style and return game. With no prior head-to-head and both players healthy, the matchup highlights Tjen’s venue-specific edge against Linette’s experience in a competitive final on outdoor hard.
