Nao Hibino enters the Barranquilla WTA 125 hard-court match as the clear favorite against Maria Torres, reflecting her established WTA experience and recent competitive schedule versus Torres's limited documented professional results. Hibino, a former top-60 player with three WTA titles, has shown solid qualifying form in 2026 events like the US Open and various ITF tournaments, though she has struggled against higher-ranked opponents on hard courts. The tournament's return after a 2025 hiatus places emphasis on home-soil advantages for local entrants like Torres, but Hibino's superior ranking, match fitness, and head-to-head caliber against similar opposition position her strongly in trader consensus. Surface familiarity and any late roster changes remain key variables ahead of the September event.
