The New York Yankees (80-61) visit the San Diego Padres (74-67) for the middle game of a three-game interleague series at Petco Park, where the Padres took Friday’s opener 3-2 in 10 innings behind Luis Campusano’s walk-off homer. Both clubs sit in strong playoff position, with New York holding the AL’s top ERA at 3.23 while chasing wild-card and division positioning, and San Diego clinging to the NL’s final wild-card spot. Left-handers Carlos Rodón (4-3, 3.20 ERA) and Robbie Ray (11-7, 3.14 ERA) square off, with New York’s bullpen depth and road splits facing San Diego’s home advantage and recent offensive surge from Fernando Tatis Jr. Multiple key injuries on both sides, including absences for Aaron Judge and several Padres arms, shape roster availability and late-inning options.
