  • Will Chung Tung-chin win the next Miaoli County Magistrate election?89¢
  • Will Chen Pin-an win the next Miaoli County Magistrate election?

Taiwanese local elections are scheduled to be held on November 28, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next Magistrate of Miaoli County as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder Magistrates appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known, or no candidate has been elected, by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on the results of the elections as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the Taiwanese government, specifically the Central Election Commission (https://db.cec.gov.tw/).

Chung Tung-chin holds a commanding lead in the Miaoli County magistrate race due to his incumbency, sustained high approval ratings above 75 percent in recent county surveys, and broad pan-blue consolidation. He registered for reelection on September 3 with visible backing from KMT lawmakers, former magistrates, local officials, and TPP figures, reflecting unified support in a county that has consistently favored KMT-aligned candidates. Satisfaction scores exceed 80 percent in areas such as social welfare, tourism, agriculture, and healthcare, tied to debt reduction and infrastructure efforts. The DPP nominee Chen Pin-an, a sitting county councilor, faces structural challenges in this traditional stronghold with no major competing pan-blue entries. Traders price the November 28 outcome accordingly, though turnout shifts or late surprises remain possible before voting.
